Saint George is about to become the home of a world-class soccer complex, thanks to a groundbreaking partnership between the Utah Youth Soccer Association and the Shivwits Band of the Paiute Nation. This exciting project is set to transform the soccer landscape in the area, providing thousands of players with a state-of-the-art facility for their Southern Utah Inter-Regional League games, and UYSA Sanctioned Tournaments.
For years, finding suitable fields for games and practices has been a major challenge in Southern Utah. But this new complex is set to change all that. The complex, which features five full 11v11 fields, ample parking, concession options provided by the Shivwits Band members, will be just 17 minutes down Old Highway 91 from the heart of Saint George.
The partnership between UYSA and the Shivwits band is a shining example of generosity and community spirit. Without the band's allocation of land and financial resources, this project would never have been possible. Their contribution will go down in history as one of the most gracious acts in the history of Southern Utah Soccer, allowing the game to keep expanding and more players to have time with the ball under their feet.
Although UYSA has not yet announced an official opening date, all the fields have been graded, the irrigation is in, and all the grass seed and lighting are purchased – indicating that the opening is getting close! Whether you're a die-hard fan or a casual observer, the new complex is sure to impress.
But that's not all – the Shivwits Convenience Store is also offering the least expensive gasoline and diesel fuel in the area and snacks for visitors to the complex. So, pack up your team and head down to Saint George for a day of fun and world-class soccer!
